Design and production of a online pop-up boutique for Nicholas Kirkwood. The boutique launch coincided with the start of London Fashion week and was open for 5 days. We also took the time to refresh the look of rest of the Nicholas Kirkwood site.

Nicholas wanted a straightforward and easy to use website for his post-modern shoe designs. We left the artifice to his well-crafted shoes and customised it for viewing on portable web browsers like the iPhone.

Consulting for I-D Media we helped win the pitch for this project as well as formulating the functionality, gameplay and design for this educational website. The idea was to create a training tool to assist teachers and students in preparation for the national event. The launch was supported by a national ad campaign and resulted in over 500 schools registering to participate in Britain’s first Spelling Bee which will be broadcast this summer. The reach has far succeeded the original estimates to include over 100,000 registered users aged 6 - 76. The site has also been nominated for a 2009 Webby Award in the Education category.

We provided art direction and a new look and feel for the Streeters agency. This included handling all print and web output for the site. With names like Pat McGrath, Karl Templer, Mark Segal and Lachlan Bailey on their roster Streeters has been at the top of the game for over 20 years. We’re working on a new SEO friendly version of the site which will be launching this Summer.

Another friend of the family who is also an artist and illustrator who started off doing design work for the venerable Silas & Maria label along with a slew of other talents like Fergadelic, Marcus James and Ben Sansbury. We were commissioned to create her online portfolio and got on immediately with her stripped down thinking in regards to look and feel letting the work speak for itself in our hand-crafted framework.

Mike Laurie from Mirola came to us with a project that some might consider banal but really struck the statistical hobbyist inside. We had in the past worked for the financial sector creating the first online bond trading system and had also been responsible for the Athens 2004 Olympics e-commerce system. Both complex projects that needed to take what is normally a complex process and distill it into something that is easy to use.
Building off that experience we worked with Mirola and the flash talents of Neil Rackett at Mesmotronic to design a flash application for Media Campaign to process, visualise and distill data for their clients. Sure you could do this using spreadsheets but it wouldn’t look as good and looks were just as important as usability to Media Campaign.
